Presenter Expectations

  • Time of Presentations: 60–90 minutes

Presentation Formats

  • Conversations That Matter
    A structured discussion format designed to engage participants in meaningful dialogue on an OT-related topic. As a facilitator, you will guide the conversation by providing foundational information and key discussion points, while encouraging thoughtful engagement and diverse perspectives.
  • Panel Discussion
    A structured conversation between panel members on a specific topic. Each member shares their ideas and perspectives, creating a dynamic and informative dialogue.
  • Presentation
    A traditional format where you speak on a specific topic using a visual presentation. Includes time for audience Q&A.
  • Poster
    Recommended for showcasing a poster during designated networking times. Presenters should be available to discuss their work and answer questions.

Who Can Present?
Any OT professional (OTR/L, OTA, OTS) or any individual with expertise directly related to occupational therapy content. If you’re unsure whether your topic or background qualifies, please contact 
info@motafunctionfirst.org for clarification.

How Are Presentations Selected?
Once the application deadline passes, the MOTA Conference Committee reviews all submissions. Selection is based on criteria such as topic relevance, format, content quality, and scheduling availability. If your submission is not selected for the main conference, MOTA will work with you to explore other opportunities to share your expertise.
