Advocacy

The advocacy division of MOTA is your voice in the promotion, protection, and advancement of occupational therapy practice in the state of Minnesota. This division is made up of volunteer OT practitioners and is composed of the Government Affairs Committee, an Ethics chair, a Quality Management chair, and a Reimbursement chair.

  • Barriers to Practice
  • Provide a dedicated lobbyist who monitors committee hearings and bill introductions 

Current Advocacy Initiatives & Opportunities

  • Creation and advocacy of OT Mental Health Bill that broadens access to occupational therapy across the mental health continuum of care. 
  • Continuing to host OT Day at the Capitol
